Steven Messing created the huge alien ship that meets the Juggernaut above the Engineer city. However it was felt that some additional fine scale detail would be required for close-up views. These images were done in post production for MPC, literally the last work I contributed to the film. I had Steven's 3D model, and I recreated some pieces to render out texture displacement I developed as large 32 bit image maps. Various render passes were composited to explore a number of detail motifs and material finishes, while retaining the original design.
